Your backups ran fine yesterday. Did they run today?
DeadCheck watches your scheduled jobs — backups, cron scripts, ETL pipelines, nightly emails. Each
job pings us when it finishes. If it doesn't check in on time, we escalate until a human knows.
$5/month per monitored job. Founding price: $29/year for unlimited jobs, locked forever if you join before launch. Ships October 31.
First 30 days free once launched. No card charged until we ship. Full refund anytime.
This is the real armed → late → escalating state machine from the product (see
core/monitor.ts), running locally — no mockups.
How it works
1. Create a monitor → get a unique ping URL: https://api.deadcheck.io/ping/abc123
2. Add one line to your script: curl the URL at the end of the job.
3. Forget about it. We remember. Expect an alert if your job goes quiet.
Silent failure is the default
Nobody notices a broken cron job until they need the backup that wasn't taken.
crontab emails you on failure — but only if the mail daemon works, the spam filter
agrees, and the job fails loudly instead of silently doing nothing. DeadCheck makes silence loud.
Why trust it
✓ No agents, no installs — one HTTP call from your existing script.
✓ Escalation that behaves like a person — retry, then email, then SMS, then Slack, then webhook — in the order and timeframe you set.
✓ Dead-simple pricing — flat rate, not per-seat, not per-notification.
FAQ
What if DeadCheck dies?
We heartbeat ourselves: if our monitors fail, an independent watchdog sends you a message saying we stopped responding.
Can it monitor "jobs" that aren't cron?
Yes — anything that can make an HTTPS call: bash scripts, Lambda functions, Airflow DAGs, GitHub Actions, database dumps.
Where's the data stored?
Just check-in timestamps and your notification settings — nothing else. EU-hosted.
